Simon Keightley is currently a consultant at North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke with a subspecialty interest in medical ophthalmology and anterior segment surgery. He is the Senior Vice President and Chairman of Examinations Committee at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Mr. Keightley is also a Consultant to the Standards Committee of the International Council of Ophthalmology.
Simon set up a day case cataract units at NHH and Andover in1997. His current research activities include work in visual fields after lasering diabetic retinopathy, glare and driving, and solar eclipse and retinopathy at the British Ophthalmological Surveillance Unit. His most recent publications include, "Reported Symptoms and Quality of Life Impacts in Patients having Laser Treatment for Sight Threatening Diabetic Retinopathy," "Eclipse Retinopathy," and an editorial " Solar Retinopathy."
